Barcelona will look to extend their winning run in La Liga to ten matches as they take on Real Betis in La Liga this coming weekend.
Betis suffered a huge blow heading into this game as star player Isco picked up a yellow card against Sevilla. It was his fifth yellow of the season and therefore, the former Los Blancos will miss the next game against Barça.
This could serve as a major boost for the Blaugrana, but it appears the drama is not over yet.
According to Diario SPORT, Real Betis are considering appealing against the decision that led to Isco’s fifth yellow card of the season.
This is largely because Real Betis believe Isco’s actions didn’t warrant a booking and that the referee’s decision to hand him a yellow card was made in haste.
The incident points to the 56th minute of the game, where Isco threw himself to the ground and tripped his opponent during a Sevilla counterattack that was led by Joselu.

Busquets Ferrer, the referee of the match, didn’t hesitate for a second and cautioned Isco.
The referee noted in the match report that Isco “recklessly brought down” an opponent, although Betis have footage that softens the incident, even showing the Betis player touching the ball just before making contact with Juanlu’s legs.
Therefore, Real Betis are now considering filing an appeal, which, if overturned, will allow Isco to appear against Barcelona this coming weekend.
Barcelona, though, will hope nothing of that sort happens as Isco is a key operator for Real Betis, especially in their creative department.
With 15 goal involvements in 20 competitive matches, Isco’s ability to influence play in the final third could be a key challenge for the Barcelona defence, especially at a time when the players are struggling with fatigue.
