Real Madrid 1-2 Valencia: Player ratings as stoppage-time strike sinks Los Blancos

Real Madrid suffered a bruising 2-1 defeat to Valencia at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday as Hugo Duro's 95th-minute header dented Los Blancos' La Liga title bid.
An eventful first half saw Madrid enter the break behind as Mouctar Diakhaby's towering header separated the sides. That hardly told the story of an enthralling encounter, however, with Liverpool loanee Giorgi Mamardashvili saving Vinicius Junior's tame penalty and a narrow offside against Kylian Mbappe denying Los Blancos their leveller via a bizarre Diakhaby own goal.
Vinicius was able to restore his pride as he found a timely equaliser shortly after the restart, converting from close range following Jude Bellingham's headed flick-on, but Duro's stoppage-time effort stunned the home crowd as Valencia secured their first away win in La Liga this season.
A devastating result leaves Los Blancos three points behind rivals Barcelona in the title race ahead of the Catalans' clash with Real Betis on Saturday evening.
