Real Madrid €180m-rated talisman’s agents contact club to discuss renewal | OneFootball

Jude Bellingham has been at Real Madrid for a season and a half but has already earned the status of a cult hero among the fanbase while becoming an integral part of the team.

The England midfielder was key to the Merengues’ success last season and after a slow start, has been in top form in recent months in the current campaign as well.

Most recently, the 21-year-old midfielder scored a stoppage-time winner for Real Madrid against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

New contract for Bellingham?

Upon joining Real Madrid in 2023, Bellingham signed a six-year contract with the club which runs until 2029.

But, now, according to AS, the Englishman’s representatives have contacted Los Blancos to discuss the possibility of a new deal for the player.

As per the report, the 21-year-old talisman is on wages worth around €8-10 million per season, which is now seen as outdated given his performances and his standing within the team.

In 32 matches across all competitions this season, Bellingham has scored 11 goals and set up ten more.

Moreover, since he arrived last season, the Englishman has won six games for Real Madrid with a goal in stoppage time – making him the player who has won the most number of games in added time for the club in the 21st century.

Given everything he brings to the table, it does not come as a surprise to see his entourage reach out the Merengues to update his contract, reflecting his current status within the squad.

Amidst all the talk of Vinicius Jr. and his possible renewal amid Saudi Arabia interest, it will be interesting to see whether Real Madrid offer a new deal to Bellingham.
