One altogether interesting alteration to the line-up fielded by Real Madrid in the club’s meeting with Deportivo Alavés has on Tuesday been noted.

Real, of course, are currently locked in action with Alavés, in a La Liga clash.

Fresh off sealing a 4th win in succession over the weekend, Los Blancos have set about putting the pressure back on table-topping Barcelona, by way of another three-point haul.

And, as things stand in Spain’s capital, this is precisely what the evening’s hosts are headed towards.

This comes with Real in possession of a one-goal advantage, courtesy of captain-for-the-night Lucas Vázquez’s finish inside 60 seconds.

It is a change on the part of Carlo Ancelotti at the other end of the pitch, though, which, as alluded to above, has given rise to widespread chatter across the Blancos fanbase.

Amid long-standing calls for as much, the Italian tactician tonight made the call to switch the positions of his two central defenders.
