Amid a crisis in central defence, Real Madrid are considering a move to re-sign Sergio Ramos on a deal until the end of the season.
On Saturday, Real Madrid were left devastated by the news that Eder Militao has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in 15 months. The Brazilian centre-back suffered the injury during Los Blancos’ 4-0 victory over Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the news being confirmed a few hours after full time.
Militao’s injury means that Carlo Ancelotti only has one recognised senior central defender at his disposal for the next couple of months at least, that being Antonio Rudiger. Jesus Vallejo is there, but the Italian head coach does not count on him, while David Alaba is still yet to return from his own ACL rupture which happened last December.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are considering the emergency signing of Sergio Ramos, who has been a free agent since leaving boyhood club Sevilla in the summer. The 38-year-old is believed to be very interested at the prospect of returning to the club he spent 16 years at between 2005 and 2021.
However, despite Carlo Ancelotti also being keen to re-sign Ramos as soon as possible, Sport say that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is against the move. The reason is simple: he is uncomfortable about Ramos’ image, as well as that of his brother (who is also his agent).
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid do go for Ramos, but if so, it would be sooner rather than later. In that case, he could arrive before the reigning European champions go to Liverpool on the 27th of November.
