According to a report from Ramon Alvarez de Mon, Real Madrid made initial contacts with Aymeric Laporte, the Al-Nassr defender, before the injury to Eder Militao during the club’s recent match against Osasuna.
It has been learned that Laporte has emerged as a key target for Real Madrid in the upcoming January transfer window and while no official agreement has been reached yet, the club is said to be keen on securing the defender for a transfer fee in the region of €10-12 million.
Furthermore, on the player’s part, it has been stated that if he wants to move to Real Madrid, he will have to reduce his salary to €5-6 million per season.
The situation surrounding Laporte’s potential move is complex. Real Madrid are well aware that acquiring the 30-year-old from Al-Nassr will not be easy.
The primary hurdle is the price tag that Al-Nassr would demand, which is reportedly higher than what Real Madrid are willing to pay. This financial gap could complicate the deal, making it a challenging negotiation.

In addition to the high transfer fee, there have been discussions about the possibility of securing Laporte on a six-month loan deal.
However, this option also seems unlikely, given Al-Nassr’s firm stance on retaining their player. As things stand, the Saudi Arabian club has shown no signs of being willing to let him go on a temporary basis, which adds another layer of difficulty for Real Madrid.
The urgency for a centre-back has intensified following the recent injury crisis, which worsened during their 4-0 win over Osasuna.
Both Militao and David Alaba are struggling with injuries, and it has become clear that Real Madrid need to strengthen their defensive options. While the club has long been interested in signing a right-back, the immediate priority now is reinforcing the centre-back position.
Although Laporte remains a top target, Real Madrid’s pursuit of him is far from certain. The club will likely explore other options as they look to address their defensive concerns in the transfer market.
