Spanish journalists Ruben Martin and Jose Felix Diaz have reported that Real Madrid are slightly inclined towards signing Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister as they continue their search for a long- term successor to Toni Kroos.

The report mentions that internal discussions at the club suggest the Argentine midfielder is emerging as a serious candidate to fill the creative void left by the recently retired German legend.

It must be noted that Kroos’ departure has left a significant gap in Real Madrid’s midfield.

While players like Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde have added strength and dynamism, the team has occasionally struggled to control games with the same precision Kroos provided.

The need for a technically skilled, composed orchestrator in the centre of the park is clear—and it seems that Mac Allister’s profile fits that description perfectly.

The Argentine is gaining traction

The aforementioned journalists discussed the potential of bringing in the Liverpool midfielder, and it appears that Mac Allister is gaining traction over other options like Martin Zubimendi.

However, signing him would be far from straightforward. The 26- year- old is under contract until 2028, and his estimated market value stands at around €90 million.

That figure could rise even higher depending on Liverpool’ s stance and whether a bidding war emerges with other top European clubs.

Madrid are known to be cautious regarding major outlays—especially for players who are not yet proven in La Liga—but with Kroos no longer in the picture, urgency might tip the scales.

As things stand, Real Madrid’ s board is only slightly leaning toward pursuing Mac Allister, and any concrete move would still depend on Liverpool’ s willingness to negotiate.

But with a clear need for a deep- lying playmaker and limited options available at the top level, Mac Allister could soon become a priority target.
