Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos will once again step onto the pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu – more than a year after his final game ass there.

The German midfielder, who announced his retirement at the end of the last season is now confirmed to take part in the Corazon Classic Match, a charity game between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund legends, set for 7 June at 12:00 CET.

Kroos returns to the Bernabeu

Kroos himself announced his return via Instagram, posting a graphic for the aforementioned match, along with the caption: “Bernabeu, I‘ll see you again.”

This will mark Kroos’ first match at the iconic stadium since 25 May 2024, when he played his final home fixture for Real Madrid against Real Betis in La Liga.

Soon after that, he helped the team win the UEFA Champions League at Wembley before announcing his retirement.

Kroos also represented the German national team at the UEFA Euro 2024 in his homeland before completely calling time on his career.

Now, though, he will be back at the Bernabeu decked in the royal white jersey, 378 days after gracing the pitch for the last time.

Who else will be playing for Real Madrid legends?

The Real Madrid Foundation, which organises the annual Corazon Classic Match, wasted no time placing Kroos front and centre in promotional materials.

Three other names are already confirmed alongside him: Iker Casillas, Pepe, and Marcelo. More legends will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Last year, Zinedine Zidane made headlines with his appearance, and other greats such as Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Clarence Seedorf, and Fernando Morientes also took part.
