Real Madrid planning a ‘quiet’ summer window – Liverpool mainstay the only target

The season so far has been a curious one for Real Madrid. The club have struggled with a myriad of injuries to key players, especially in the defensive unit.
The retirement of Toni Kroos, coupled with the lack of form from certain midfielders have also cost the team dearly in some matches. This has led to an overall appeal from fans to sign more players in the coming summer.
Despite all these problems, Real Madrid have done fairly well for themselves and are still in contention to win all three tournaments they are participating currently.
Real Madrid’s relative outperformance despite injuries appear to have really impressed the hierarchy, which is planning to under a ‘quiet’ summer transfer window.
This is according to Rodra P, who suggests that Los Blancos are expected to undergo a summer where they are not expected to make too many big money purchases.
It appears Real Madrid are once again going for a fiscally conservative plan, hoping that the current lot will be able to provide the goods.

In fact, Real Madrid’s only target for the summer ahead is Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Liverpool right-back whose contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season.
Alexander-Arnold will be available as a free agent in the summer, making him an excellent market opportunity for Real Madrid.
The Englishman will significantly bolster the right-back department, which heavily relies on the contributions and experience of now-injured Dani Carvajal.
But apart from Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid have no other specific targets in mind, not even in the central defensive area where Ancelotti has had to endure many injuries this season.
It appears the club are banking on the growth of Raul Asencio and other young talents like Jacobo Ramon and Joan Martinez.
The report adds that the situation may only change if Real Madrid go through a trophyless campaign, which is a remote possibility given how the team has performed in crunch games, barring the two El Clasico fixtures this season.
Another scenario that could change the situation is the potential departure of a superstar player, with Vinicius being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. Otherwise, it could be a quiet window in the summer at Valdebebas.
