Real Madrid set to take a risk with Federico Valverde ahead of Atlético Madrid clash | OneFootball

With possibly the most important game of the season for Real Madrid just around the corner, Carlo Ancelotti needs all hands on deck to face Atlético Madrid in the Champions League round of 16.

Ancelotti could gave a tough decision to make however, as Relevo are reporting that Fede Valverde is currently suffering from hamstring discomfort.

Real Madrid have two options, to rest Valverde and allow him to recover, but risk a lack of firepower in midfield, or they can play Valverde but possibly risk exacerbating his injury.

It seems that Ancelotti has made up his mind however, and is set to go ahead and start Valverde regardless of the afforementioned risks.

The Real Madrid coach knows his player best, and has likely seen god progress in training which leads him to believe that the risk is worth it.

Los Blancos are definitely a better team when Valverde is playing, so here’s hoping the 26-year-old’s injury isn’t too serious.
