Jacobo Ramon was seen as one of the big promises for Real Madrid in the centre-back department ahead of the ongoing season.
The youngster travelled with Carlo Ancelotti’s side for the pre-season tour to the United States and was seen as one of the primary options to play as a substitute defender given the club’s injury crisis.
Unfortunately for Ramon, he could not catch a break with injuries and suffered from a lack of momentum. Since his first setback in September, he has chained a long list of injuries and has been unavailable for months at stretch.
Despite being a firm candidate to play for the first team not too long ago, Ramon has struggled for continuity and his situation has forced the Real Madrid administration to take a serious decision over his status.
As relayed by MARCA, Los Blancos see it best for the player to string together continuity with the Castilla squad and he has thus been shifted to the dynamics of the subsidiary team for the time being.

His link to the first team so far was down to the lack of resources at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal, but now with the manager having more breathing space, he can afford to shift Ramon completely to the B team for his growth.
Real Madrid are set to receive a major boost in the form of David Alaba’s return later this month while Raul Asencio has established himself as an able backup in the department.
Further, Aurelien Tchouameni has proven to be a more than capable stand-in and the defence is thus well covered heading into 2025.
It thus appears that the train has passed for Ramon to make it big in the first team, but the player will be motivated regardless for one cannot predict the turns the season takes with such a hectic schedule.
