A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid looks set to miss the club’s upcoming meeting with RCD Mallorca.
That’s according to journalist Rubén Martín, who points towards Vinícius Jr. as the player in question.
Wide-man Vinícius was for his part in from the off once more on Sunday, as Real Madrid marked their return to action in a La Liga meeting with arch rivals Barcelona.
En route to an eventual 4-3 defeat for Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, however, the Brazilian was hooked from proceedings late on.
This came after Vinícius pulled up with what appeared to be an ankle problem, tended to by Los Blancos’ medical team whilst on the bench as a result.
And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the issue looks set to prove enough to rule the 24-year-old out of Real Madrid’s next fixture.
As per a report from the aforementioned Rubén Martín:
‘It seems that in the first examination of Vinícius, a grade 2 sprain has been detected. Tomorrow he will undergo more tests. It is unlikely that he will make it to the match against Mallorca.’
