Real Madrid are undecided on whether or not to enter the transfer market amidst their defensive crisis. With academy talents like Raul Asencio rising, there is confidence but also a realisation that more depth is necessary.

Aymeric Laporte has thus emerged as Real Madrid’s most preferred target should the club enter the market. However, his signing is unlikely given his contractual situation with Al-Nassr.

The Merengues have their eyes on other options in the market as well, with Jonathan Tah standing as a great candidate whose contract expires in the summer. The race to sign him, however, is highly contested.

Player undecided

Earlier this week, rumours floated that Tah would join one of Barcelona or Bayern Munich next summer as a free agent and that his decision was close to final.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, however, sources close to Tah have confirmed that he has not yet decided on his future.

The player is certain that he will leave Bayer Leverkusen but is undecided on where he will sign up for his next challenge. The door to Real Madrid thus continues to be open.

The German international will make a final decision soon but not before the beginning of the new year. Whether or not he would be open to a move in January remains uncertain but Los Blancos hope to leverage his contractual status.

So far this season, the 28-year-old has 10 Bundesliga starts to his name with one goal and a clean sheet recorded in that duration. He averages over six defensive actions per game and completes 93% of his passes.
