According to Alfredo Matilla (h/t Madrid Zone), Real Madrid have decided to part ways with Carlo Ancelotti in the most respectful way possible.

In fact, despite the uncertainty around his future, the club will pay the Italian manager his remaining salary and also offer him a lifetime role as a club ambassador.

After a long and difficult season, it is now clear that Ancelotti will leave once the campaign ends. Real Madrid are fully supportive of him taking the Brazil national team job, and there are no hard feelings.

Club president Florentino Perez’s idea is not just to honour Ancelotti’s final year of contract but also to fulfil a promise made earlier which is to keep him connected to Real Madrid even after retirement.

Ancelotti, who reportedly earns around €11 million gross per season, will continue in charge until the last match.

After that, Real Madrid are planning a special ceremony, where Ancelotti will be recognised for everything he has achieved during his two spells at the club.
