Stade Rennais were one of the clubs that spent the most during the recent transfer window. Only Manchester City and Al-Nassr spent move than the Breton club.
Manchester City spent heavily (€218m), bringing in the likes of Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov, whilst Al-Nassr (€77m) spent big to bring Jhon Duran to Saudi Arabia. Rennes ranked third with a total outlay of €74.65m. Seko Fofana, signed from Al-Nassr arrived for €20m, whilst Brice Samba, Anthony Rouault, Lilian Brassier, Kyogo Furuhashi, Mousa Al-Taamari, Kazeem Olaigbe, Ayanda Sishuba, and Ismeaël Koné also joined during the window.
SRFC also had to pay a €900,000 to recall their defender, Jérémy Jacquet, from Clermont Foot. There were also outgoings with the likes of Amine Gouiri, Jota, Albert Gronbaek, Glen Kamara, Baptiste Santamaria, and Leo Ostigard leaving the Breton club.
Rennes spent the most of any Ligue 1 club with Paris Saint-Germain in second. They spent €70m on just one player, bringing in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in from Napoli. Overall, Ligue 1 clubs spent just over €200m during the winter window, as per Transfermarkt.
