Report: Brighton & Hove Albion open to selling young attacker in summer

Brighton & Hove Albion are open to selling Julio Enciso this summer, with a price tag of around €30 million set for a permanent transfer.
Journalist Christian Martin shared this update with the outlet Versus, saying that he is led to believe that the midfielder – who was previously linked with a move to West Ham – will be on the market once he completes his loan spell at Ipswich Town.
Enciso joined Kieran McKenna’s squad in January after falling out of favour under Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, who arrived in the summer from St. Pauli. Although he has been a regular starter for Ipswich, a permanent move seems unlikely, especially if they fail to avoid relegation back to the Championship.
That leaves both Enciso and Brighton with a key decision to make.
When he returns to the Amex Stadium, he’ll have just one year remaining on his contract, putting the club in a position where they must either agree on an extension or cash in on him before he can leave on a free next summer.

If no new deal is reached, Enciso would be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club as early as January. Brighton are keen to avoid that scenario, and according to Martin, they are ready to put him up for sale in the coming months.
“Hey, let’s see what happens with him. Brighton will listen to offers for Julio,” he said.
“Look, Julio’s dream, off the record he told me that one day he’d like to play for Barcelona. Um, but Brighton has always been a good negotiator.

“I think Brighton will let him go for €30m, which isn’t a bad price for a player like Julio. Julio will have offers from the Premier League, from Italy, maybe there in Spain.
“I think if he doesn’t renew, they won’t speculate, Brighton will want to listen to offers now in July. €30m, almost $36m, a little more, maybe.”
