Inter Milan have reportedly set their sights on Torino talisman Samuele Ricci to replace wantaway star Davide Frattesi.
According to Libero via FCInter1908, Inter wouldn’t accept Bryan Cristante’s inclusion as a counterpart in this deal.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri would only pursue the ex-AC Milan midfielder separately from Frattesi’s transfer.
Furthermore, Simone Inzaghi would only consider a short-term loan for the Giallorossi ace.
On the other hand, the reigning Serie A champions are keen on Ricci.
The 23-year-old has already emerged as Milan’s top midfield target.
However, Inter could rival their old foes for his signature if Frattesi departed Giuseppe Meazza for Rome.
Urbano Cairo is unwilling to negotiate Ricci’s exit this winter.
Only a €30 million bid would change his mind.
Yet, Inter and Milan are both reluctant to fork out such figures in January.
It means Torino would probably keep hold of their jewel until the end of the season.
While Milan will hardly lose interest in Ricci, Inter could adjust accordingly, depending on Frattesi’s future.
For now, the 25-year-old is hellbent on leaving the club.
However, that could change in the remainder of the season, especially now that Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu are out injured.
