Inter Milan outcast Marko Arnautovic could join Torino in the upcoming transfer window despite recent denials.
According to Tuttosport via FCInter1908, the defending Serie A champions are eager to cut the 35-year-old loose this winter.
Deemed surplus to requirements by Simone Inzaghi, Arnautovic has only made five league appearances this season.
Indeed, he has been at the bottom of the pecking order at Giuseppe Meazza.
However, that didn’t stop him from turning down several foreign suitors in the summer.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Austrian veteran could change his mind in January.
Arnautovic’s substantial wages remain a stumbling block.
He earns around €3.7 million net per season at Inter.
Meanwhile, Torino can’t offer him more than €1.7m per year.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri would likely need to handle a large portion of his salary in the second half of the season.
Yet, it would only temporarily solve the issue.
There’s a significant €2m discrepancy Urbano Cairo is unwilling to bridge.
On the other hand, Inter are open to letting Arnautovic depart for Turin without getting a transfer fee.
If Torino can’t meet the player’s demands, Inzaghi’s side could turn to the United States and Saudi Arabia for potential buyers.
