AC Milan have taken an interest in Reda Belahyane and they may look to make a move for him in January, but Hellas Verona will ask for at least eight figures.

Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders’ positions are very secure, but Milan still require some extra coverage in the midfield, and this is certainly not a new thing. The problem has been in place since last season, and it looks like it could continue unless quickly rectified.

Questions have already been asked of Paulo Fonseca and his rotation strategy in the midfield, given the two have shared the majority of the midfield minutes. Whereas Yunus Musah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have rarely been given regular minutes in the starting XI.

Aside from those four, there are no other options available to Fonseca, so if injuries were to occur, it would leave his midfield slightly bare, and this is why the Rossoneri are looking to invest in January.

Il Corriere di Verona reports that the Diavolo have set their sights on Verona midfielder Belahyane, but it will cost around €10 million to bring him to the club, as Milan News relays. Given the Gialloblu paid a fee of just €500,000 last January, they are on track to make a significant profit, and Milan may use this to attempt to lower the price.

Should they go for someone other than Belahyane, it seems that the Rossoneri will make attempts for Morten Frendurp from Genoa, or Real Betis’ Johnny Cardoso.
