Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand believes that one current Chelsea player should be handed a two-week fine.

It’s been a discussion point this week amongst the Chelsea fan base, with many of them believing that one player has disrespected the fans, the club, and their team mates this week.

EXCLUSIVE! Agents are touting a couple of big name Chelsea players to other clubs!

Chelsea played against Arsenal on Sunday evening and played out a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have a big squad, so there is plenty of competition for places these days. Players will have to accept not playing every game, and they will have to accept being subbed off too.

But seemingly, one player, namely Noni Madueke, didn’t quite accept being subbed off against Arsenal and reacted angrily to it by going straight down the tunnel when taken off for Mykhailo Mudryk.

Enzo Maresca reacted to the incident and played it all down, but some Chelsea fans were quite annoyed by it.

None of us know the context really, but he certainly did seem annoyed at being taken off, and Ferdinand thinks Madueke should be fined.

Disrespectful

Ferdinand not happy with Madueke

Ferdinand has labelled it as disrespectful and says Madueke should be fined by Maresca.

In words cited on X, Ferdinand said:

“It’s disrespectful to your teammates. I think the manager protecting him is mad, that’s a two-week fine!”

To be honest, I was more annoyed by Madueke only jogging very slowly back on Arsenal’s goal when if he literally just put in an 80% sprint then he would have got back in and perhaps stopped the cross reaching Gabriel Martinelli who scored the goal, or at least put him off his stride. There is never an excuse for simply jogging back like that, especially when he was facing the play and would have seen three Arsenal players unmarked. That’s what annoyed me more than anything else!
