Like in the summer, Roma are facing the threat of losing Paulo Dybala and have begun earmarking possible replacements should their star ask out. Galatasaray are mounting an all-out pursuit to persuade him in the next couple of weeks.
According to Calciomercato, should La Joya depart, the Giallorossi would attempt to sign Giacomo Raspadori. His entourage is shopping him around in search of a better situation playing time-wise. However, Napoli aren’t necessarily on the same page. They rejected a €25M offer plus €10M add-ons from Atalanta last summer. Therefore, the bid would have to be very rich to make the Azzurri alter their stance.
Roma could stand pat in January if Dybala left considering they acquired his heir apparent Matias Soulé in the summer, shelling out €25M to get him from Juventus. He has struggled so far. In addition, they had brought in Tommaso Baldanzi, who plays in a similar role, last January.
Per Tuttomercatoweb, the Giallorossi have a primary target to replace the Argentine, Omar Marmoush, but they can’t sign him in January because they have filled the two slots for extra-EU purchases. He’s expensive, but that won’t deter the capital club. He has posted 18 goals and 12 assists in 23 games across all competitions this season.
One of the counterpoints against his departure is that it wouldn’t open up a lot of economic resources. They haven’t been great so far, but they technically already have the men to fill in for him. Plus, it’d be hard to find somebody with the same star power in January.
