Lazio 2-0 AC Milan

Martina Piemonte netted a brace against her former club to fire Lazio to their first league victory since October. First, the ex-Everton striker guided the ball home from Martina Zanoli’s square pass to give her side a second-minute lead. The same duo combined again to double Lazio’s advantage in the second period. Piemonte met Zanoli’s near-post cross to steer a left-foot shot past Laura Giuliani. The hosts climbed up to seventh spot, leaving them five points behind sixth-placed Milan.

Napoli 1-2 Roma

Roma staged a late turnaround to claim all three points in Saturday’s away game against Napoli. Ginevra Moretti headed in from Matilde Lundorf’s deep cross to give Napoli an early lead. The reigning champions were given a boost when Napoli’s Natalie Muth was sent off for two bookable offences in the 70th minute. Roma made full use of the numerical advantage, with Manuela Giugliano finding the net in the 87th minute to pull her side level.

Moeka Minami then completed the turnaround in stoppage time, heading home from an outswinging corner. Roma will finish the calendar year in third place in the Serie A Femminile table, while Napoli are down in ninth position.

Inter 3-0 Sassuolo

Inter extended their unbeaten run to six competitive matches with a dominant display against Sassuolo. Ivana Andrés headed in Tessa Wullaert’s driven corner to give Inter a narrow lead at the half-time break. Martina Tomaselli doubled her side’s advantage with a superb striker from just outside the box. Elisa Polli then pounced on a rebound to tap in from close range, wrapping up a successful outing for Inter. As for Sassuolo, the defeat ended a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Sampdoria 1-2 Como

Como’s Nadine Nischler produced a stunning long-range strike to open the scoring inside the first minute. The visitors held on to their lead until the hour mark when Sara Baldi tucked home her first league goal of the season. Baldi’s leveller appeared to be the game’s final goal, but that changed with a dramatic Como winner in the second minute of stoppage time. Amanda Tampieri pushed Nischler’s shot onto the post, only for the ball to bounce off her back and into the net. As a result of the win, sixth-placed Como have now moved four points clear of AC Milan in seventh position.

Fiorentina 0-3 Juventus

Juventus will finish 2024 with a seven-point lead at the top of the table after they swept past Fiorentina at the weekend. After playing out a goalless first half, Juventus found the breakthrough in the opening two minutes of the second period. Sofia Cantore collected the ball off Chiara Beccari, before she blasted a right-foot shot past Cecilie Fiskerstrand at the near post. Just three minutes later, Cantore produced a stunning effort, cutting inside onto her right foot before fizzing an unstoppable shot out of Fiskerstrand’s reach. Barbara Bonansea came off the bench to add gloss to the scoreline, rounding the goalkeeper to place the ball in the awaiting net.
