Roma have turned their attention to a new defensive target just hours away from the transfer deadline.
Roma is moving decisively on the market and is targeting Saba Goglichidze, a young defender from Empoli who is enjoying a growing season.
The player has attracted the interest of several teams, including Milan and Juventus, but the Giallorossi want to get ahead of the competition.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, the Roman club is intensifying contacts with Empoli, with the aim of quickly concluding the deal.
Roma’s intention is clear: to secure the Georgian talent with a market blitz, thus avoiding auctions or bids from other contenders.
The deal came about unexpectedly, but could enter the decisive phases soon.
It remains to be seen whether Empoli will be willing to sell Goglichidze already in this transfer window, or whether they will prefer to keep him until the end of the season.
