We have now had announcements from both Sky Sports and TNT Sports, detailing Premier League matches that they will show live on Sunday for their UK audience.

The broadcasters revealing that they will be broadcasting three of the ten matches.

With four games featuring the five Premier League games fighting for the remaining three Champions League spots, you may wonder which three of the four they have chosen?

The answer is that between them, TNT Sports and Sky Sports will show just two of the four matches that will decide the final three Champions League spots.

Sky Sports were first up with their announcement (see below) on Wednesday (21 May 2025), stating they will show the Nottingham Forest v Chelsea and Liverpool v Crystal Palace matches live.

Then later on yesterday, TNT Sports made public that they will be showing the Manchester United v Aston Villa game on Sunday.

Unless there are any further announcements from the two broadcasters, which appears most unlikely, it means nobody in the UK can (legally…) watch Fulham v Manchester City, nor Newcastle United v Everton.

Two big things here.

Firstly, with the broadcasters having so much power AND a massive public demand for all four of these games to be shown live that will decide the Champions League places, surely they would have been able to show all four matches involving Newcastle, Man City, Villa, Forest and Chelsea. I’m sure that in the past it has happened, whereby more Premier League matches were broadcast live on the final day of the season than had been originally planned.

Secondly, if indeed Sky Sports and TNT Sports were limited to only three match choices between them on Sunday, why on earth would you waste one on Liverpool v Crystal Palace, a game that won’t impact anything. Apart from whether Crystal Palace finish 10th, 11th or 12th in the table. I can understand a broadcaster wanting to show Liverpool receiving the Premier League trophy BUT not the actual meaningless game at Anfield.

This is such a kick in the teeth for supporters of Newcastle United and Manchester City who can’t be at the two key matches on Sunday.

‘Premier League final day on Sky Sports: TV schedule, live coverage, kick-off-times, how and where to watch or stream

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea will be shown live on Sky Sports on the final day of the Premier League season; from next season, Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage will increase from 128 matches to at least 215 games exclusively live

The drama on the final day is set to come in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League, with just one point now separating fourth-in-the-table Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest in seventh, with third, fourth and fifth spots still up for grabs.

Nottingham Forest and Chelsea are both still in the mix and play each other on the final day, and the Sky Sports cameras will be at the City Ground as all the drama unfolds in what promises to be a rollercoaster conclusion to the top-flight campaign.
