Sunderland are leading the race to sign Liverpool striker Jayden Danns on loan before Monday’s 11 pm transfer deadline.

The Black Cats are fourth in the Championship, and they are firmly in the race for promotion this season. They are looking to bolster the squad in the January window and have signed two players already.

It appears that Sunderland are now looking to sign Danns from Liverpool, and they are leading the race for his signature.

The 19-year-old academy graduate made his senior debut for Liverpool last season under Jurgen Klopp and made a strong impact in limited games he has played.

Klopp hailed him as an “absolutely insane” player, and he is highly rated. This season, he has made only four appearances in all competitions, including a start in the Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven.

A number of Championship sides have shown interest in recent weeks, but the promotion-chasing Sunderland are now favourites to sign him.

Danns became the youngest player in Liverpool’s history to start a Champions League game when he started in midweek against PSV. He will greatly benefit from playing regular games, and it is a good move for all parties involved.

Sunderland will get a player with tremendous potential and who is desperate to get some games under his belt. He can play a huge role for the Black Cats as they aim to secure promotion this season.

He has scored three goals in nine senior appearances for Liverpool, and the Reds will hope that the loan move will turn productive for him.
