Jo Potter’s side have their eyes set on a treble for theRangers but that took a serious blow last night at Ibrox with Glasgow City leaving with all three points thanks to a 1-0 victory. Potter ended up kicking the dugout in a violent outburst as the angry manager of theRangers accused her side of putting in the worst performance of the season when it mattered most.
Further down the table it was a fourth versus fifth contest with current Champions Celtic hosting Hearts Women at Hamilton. It was heading for a share of the points after Amy Gallacher grabbed a brilliant equaliser. Then a late winner from Maria McAneny gave Elena Sadiku a rare win over a top five rival. Hibs leaders meanwhile collected the three points against sixth placed Motherwell and with routine 2-0 win.
Celtic’s remaining games are as follows: Glasgow City (A), theRangers (H), Hibs (A) and Motherwell (H)*
Hibs remaining games are: Hearts (A), Glasgow City (H), Celtic (H) theRangers (A).

Only Hibs and Glasgow City have matters in their own hands, if either side wins their games they will be Champions. The teams who still have Motherwell to play are clearly at an advantage as no-one is really expecting Motherwell to pick up anything from here on in.
That probably favours Glasgow City most, who essentially need to beat Hibs and match their results elsewhere.
theRangers have a chance if results go their way but Potter’s team have blown up badly in recent weeks. They have a Scottish Cup Final against Glasgow City the week after the title is decided. Both sides could be playing for a double at Hampden, with theRangers already holding the Sky Sports League Cup.

Celtic’s chances of retaining their title are slim to say the least – taking 12 points from the remaining four matches would see Sadiku’s side finishing on 71 points.
Hibs would need to take more than four points to make sure Celtic couldn’t surge past them, as unlikely as that seems, strangers things have happened in football. Probably Hibs’ best chance of three points is the game this weekend against Hearts – but it’s not just Celtic they are concerned about, we are probably the least of their worries.
Glasgow City will feel if they can beat Celtic then Hibs they will be on top and have two very winnable games left, with all the momentum to win the title.
Unlike Celtic who will have no say in the outcome of the title on the final day of the season if they’re not involved in the outcome, theRangers could play a role in that as they have done a few times in recent seasons. The less said about that the better. If It came to it that Celtic had to beat Motherwell and hope that Hearts beat Glasgow City and/or theRangers beat Hibs then you can see why even with a late flurry of wins Celtic’s chances are slimmer than slim.

Even finishing third would be better than we could have hoped for a few weeks ago given the terrible run of results and poor performances from the Champions. Chances are Glasgow City will win the title and they are probably the best team this season. Hibs are easily the most improved and it would be a great story if they end up bettering the big three while theRangers will feel that they have blown their big treble chance.
They could win their remaining four games but would need Glasgow City to slip up so as things stand it is out of their hands.
A wee shame that.
