The PSG Academy continues to expand with a new location in Bakırköy, Türkiye | OneFootball

Since setting up in Türkiye in 2018, the PSG Academy has continued its international development by strengthening its presence in the country. On Friday 24th January 2025, a new milestone was reached with the official inauguration of the fourth site in Istanbul, located at the Bakırköy Atatürk Sports and Life Village.

A fast-growing model

PSG Academy Türkiye founder Nihat Uğurlu and board member Cem Kılıç underlined the strategic importance of this location at the inauguration ceremony. The academy, which combines sports training and academic education, seeks to offer an innovative and successful model for young Turkish footballers, drawing inspiration from the training methods of Paris Saint-Germain.

‘Since its inception, the PSG Academy Türkiye has pursued an impressive growth trajectory. Thanks to the methodologies and training programmes of Paris Saint-Germain, our goal is to bring European football to the different cities of Türkiye and develop high-potential athletes,’  said Nihat Uğurlu. ‘The opening of the Bakırköy site is a major step forward that will allow us to reach a greater number of young talents and increase our influence in Turkish football.’

Clear aims for the PSG Academy in Türkiye

With 14 sites across the country and 1,200 young players aged between 3 and 19, the PSG Academy Türkiye is continuing its development with ambitious goals. Backed by high-quality infrastructure, including indoor and outdoor pitches, it attracts new talent every year and continues to raise its training standards. The opening of the Bakırköy site, which has two outdoor pitches, marks a new stage in this expansion and is fully in line with Paris Saint-Germain's strategy to strengthen its presence in the Turkish market.

Towards a bright future

In addition to its infrastructure, the PSG Academy Türkiye is stepping up its efforts to boost its profile and appeal. The second edition of the PSG Academy Türkiye Cup, organised during the inauguration of the Bakırköy site, demonstrates the desire to innovate and further grow the academy. New events will be organised on a regular basis to increase the number of athletes and raise the profile of the PSG Academy Türkiye.

With its ambitious vision and state-of-the-art facilities, the PSG Academy Türkiye is a driving force in the development of football in the country. By drawing on the expertise of Paris Saint Germain, it is actively contributing to its international reputation, while offering young players an immersive experience in line with the club's standards.
