Thomas Müller sets example with Uli Hoeneß and Herbert Hainer | OneFootball

Following on from president Herbert Hainer and honorary president Uli Hoeneß, Thomas Müller, representing Bayern's men’s team, has also signed the club’s ‘Not with us’ campaign to send a further message against right-wing extremism, antisemitism, racism, hatred and hate speech on behalf of the German record champions. The organisers, led by artist Ron Williams, visited Bayern’s record appearance holder at Säbener Straße.

FC Bayern has also created further opportunities for as many fans as possible to sign up. Lists have been available at the FC Bayern Museum and all fan stores in Munich and the surrounding area since Monday afternoon, and stands are planned for the home game against Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena on 28 September, at the *1900 clubhouse at the FC Bayern Campus for the women's game against Hoffenheim on Monday, and at BMW Park for the basketball match against Hamburg on 29 September. Legends such as Giovane Elber and Roy Makaay will also be in attendance.

“FC Bayern stands for a liberal-minded, tolerant society. There is no room for discrimination of any kind here,” said Hainer. “It’s important to live by our attitude. As FC Bayern, we want to be a role model and show that diversity in sport and in life in general is an enrichment.” It is therefore important to the club that as many members of the large FC Bayern family as possible take part. More players from across the club will also sign up. “The shift to the right in Germany and throughout Europe worries me greatly,” said Hoeneß. “We are all called upon not to stand idly by and watch history repeat itself.” The signature campaign runs until 1 October.

The German record champions are regularly committed to diversity, not least with its cross-club initiative ‘Red against Racism’ for diversity and against discrimination of all kinds. “When divisive forces are at work in our society, sport and all of us should stand up and take countermeasures,” emphasised Hainer. “Against hatred and hate speech, for a resilient democracy, we must work together to show that there are many good reasons to stand up for our democracy.”
