Tottenham Hotspur have given themselves an outstanding chance of reaching the Europa League final after opening up a commanding aggregate lead against Bodo/Glimt.
The little known team from inside the Arctic Circle have made history this season by becoming Norwegian football's first ever semi-finalists in a UEFA club competition.
But Spurs took a first leg lead in north London inside the first minute through Brennan Johnson. A second goal before half-time came from James Maddison, while a third from Dominic Solanke was from the penalty spot just over an hour in.
Ulrik Saltnes did pull a goal back for Bodo/Glimt late on, which offers some hope going into the second leg of their tie next Thursday.
Yet it is Ange Postecoglou's Spurs who are strong favourites to now progress, keeping alive the club's pursuit of a first trophy in 17 years. The manager can also still preserve his record of delivering silverware in his second season, having previously done so at every other team he's been.
