Tottenham Hotspur contacted Paris Saint-Germain yesterday regarding striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 26-year-old is of interest to Spurs after struggling under Luis Enrique. He does not fit the mould of what the Spanish manager wants and has been urged to find a new stomping ground.
The French striker has shown glimpses of his talent following his €90 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt. He is still a handful for any defence but needs a change of environment to find his groove.
Kolo Muani can play across the frontline and would give Spurs additional firepower for the remainder of the season as the team chases an elusive trophy and European qualification.
However, Spurs are not alone in the race. Juventus also made contact with PSG for the striker, while Manchester United have expressed an interest.
Tottenham must act decisively to secure Kolo Muani ahead of Juventus and Man Utd. With his versatility and untapped potential, he fits the profile of a player who can thrive under Ange Postecoglou.
He can provide competition for Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and Heung-min Son. He will also help phase out the ineffective Timo Werner.
Spurs must make bold moves this month, and signing Kolo Muani could provide the cutting edge they have lacked since Harry Kane’s departure.
The Juventus interest only raises the stakes, but Spurs have a unique opportunity to offer the Frenchman a fresh start in a league that suits his physical and technical attributes.
