Barcelona stars Dani Olmo and Gavi were the two members of the Blaugrana’s first-team squad hit hardest by the news of Carles Miñarro Garcia’s passing.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.
Carles Miñarro Garcia’s name has of course taken its place front and centre in the Spanish media headlines over the last 24 hours.
This comes after the awful news was forthcoming that Barcelona’s first-team doctor had suddenly passed away.
Barca’s scheduled La Liga meeting with Osasuna on Saturday night was, in turn, postponed, with Hansi Flick’s squad having been in no mental or emotional state to take to the pitch.
And as alluded to above, of those most affected, two players stood out above all others.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, whilst Hansi Flick and Dr. Ricard Pruna were the Blaugrana staff members hit hardest by Miñarro Garcia’s death, it was Dani Olmo and Gavi who struggled most amongst the playing squad:
‘Among the players, most affected was Dani Olmo, who had known Dr. Miñarro for years, given that his father, who was a professional coach, had him as a doctor for two of his teams and he also had him as a family doctor. Another footballer who was particularly affected was Gavi, who could not hold back his tears when he heard the news. Miñarro acted in an exemplary manner with him when he suffered a strong blow to the head against Alavés.’
