Manchester United registered an emphatic 3-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
Goals from Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes ensured United entered the international break on a high.
While Fernandes has been in red-hot form, Hojlund and Garnacho had struggled to score in recent weeks.
Hojlund finally ended his agonising 21-game goal drought, smashing home a superb finish to open the scoring in the 28th minute.
The Denmark international hadn’t scored since December 12 against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.
Fernandes showcased his trademark vision with a perfectly weighted through ball, setting up Hojlund, who surged forward before drilling a right-footed strike into the far corner.
Despite his recent struggles, the 22-year-old showed nerves of steel to bury his chance.
He remains a work in progress, having lost six duels on the night, but nothing matters more for a striker than scoring.
Garnacho also ended his 24-game scoreless streak. Despite delivering energetic performances since the start of the year, he had struggled to convert his chances.
It took 17 league matches for Garnacho to score his first goal under Ruben Amorim.
He netted with a slick counter-attacking finish, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Undeterred, he made no mistake later, drilling a low strike into the corner to double United’s lead.
Hojlund and Garnacho must take the thumping win over Leicester as a turning point in their United careers.
If they continue to improve and display hunger for success, Amorim could mould them into a formidable attacking force.
