The November international break is just around the corner. For Southampton, it might have come at the wrong time, considering they are beginning to find form this season with two back-to-back wins.
However, fear not, Saints. The star players will be in action for their countries, in a bid to keep their stamina up and of course, improve morale before the busy festive period kicks in.
Any Southampton fan local to England might be looking forward to seeing how the Three Lions fare in the November international break. Interim manager Lee Carsley will oversee England's fixtures against Greece and Ireland this month.
The first Southampton player who has been called up to the England squad is experienced England international Aaron Ramsdale. The Southampton shot-stopper has been handed five England caps already.
The last time Aaron Ramsdale made an appearance for England was in June, when England played Iceland. Unfortunately, the former Arsenal man did not keep a clean sheet.
It remains to be seen whether Ramsdale makes his sixth England cap this month. It is more likely that he will watch on from the sidelines as Jordan Pickford is the preferred option.
A surprising inclusion in the England squad for the November internationals is Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Having played in every Premier League match this season, he has definitely earned a call-up.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis has replaced the usual culprit John Stones in the centre of defence, in what is an incredible opportunity for the 22-year-old.
Harwood-Bellis is yet to make his senior England debut. However, he has frequented the youth setup and more than impressed at U21 level.
This might have been Lee Carsley's reason for selecting the Southampton defender. Even if he does not start for England, it is incredible for his morale and it's great to see him recognised from a Southampton perspective.
