Munich also celebrated one of its own as Thomas Müller played his last home game for Bayern. “I'm also thrilled when I see what Thomas has achieved for this club. Reaction to Bayern’s title party against Gladbach

Max Eberl, board member for sport: “It was a very emotional day, really great. Thomas is a great person. We can only bow down to his achievements. This title was well deserved. There are 75,000 hearts beating for me here, so I'm a bit scared. I can't take that for granted. I can't quite come to terms with it all at the moment.”

Manuel Neuer: “The important thing was that we got the trophy here in our stadium. It was perfect, even if I'd have liked Thomas to score another goal. But either way, I'm grateful to Thomas for my career. We've been on the pitch together so often. The city of Munich loves him. The goal was to be champions, and we achieved that. So, it's a good season.”

Harry Kane: “It's an incredible feeling after so much hard work. I'm really enjoying it and hope it's just the start. We've got a great team and a great coach. Obviously I'll miss Thomas. He's a legend.”

Leon Goretzka: “The biggest priority for me was for us to win back the title. That was our biggest job this year. And it’s obviously a great feeling to have done that. I think we played a really good season in the league this year.”

Josip Stanišić: “Everyone was just longing for this title. We wanted to put on a bit more of a show on the pitch today, which we maybe didn’t quite manage, but ultimately the most important thing is we’ve got the title here. I think the future looks good. We definitely want to go for more titles next year.”
