Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has dropped a major hint regarding his long-term future amid concrete links with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
The Brazilian superstar captained Los Blancos to a 1-0 win in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash against Real Sociedad, thanks to a 19th-minute strike from his compatriot Endrick.
Vinicius’ long-term future at Madrid has been making the headlines over the past couple of weeks, with Saudi Arabia plotting a summer move.
The Saudi Pro League (SPL) is reportedly preparing an earth-shattering £200 million bid to sign Vinicius, although Madrid will likely shut them down unless he pushes for an exit.
Vinicius will play his 300th game for Madrid when they face Real Betis on March 1.
The Brazilian has pledged his allegiance to Los Blancos and reiterated his desire to remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
“Coming so young and playing so many games is something I have never dreamed of or imagined,” Vinicius said (via Mundo Deportivo).
“I’ll soon reach 300, but I want more. I want 400 and 500. I hope I can make history at this club.”
Vinicius’ comments will go a long way in easing the tension at Madrid. However, with contract talks stalling, the club faithful are still holding their breath.
Aside from preparing a record-breaking offer, Saudi Arabia are reportedly ready to tempt Vinicius with a five-year contract worth a staggering €1 billion.
The 24-year-old joined Madrid as a teenager and has developed into one of the best players in world football. Los Blancos are pulling out all the stops to keep him for the foreseeable future.
