Vinicius Jr.’s matches often involve clashes with opposing fans, and his recent outing against Real Betis was no exception. The Brazilian winger, who usually finds comfort at the Santiago Bernabeu, struggled to make an impact last night.
He failed to register a goal or an assist, and towards the final moments of the match, he was visibly frustrated as Aitor Ruibal managed to bypass him with ease.
However, long before the match reached its conclusion, tensions had already escalated between Vinicius and the home supporters.
The familiar pattern played out once again, with the cameras capturing the initial spark of the conflict. It all began when Vinicius was unable to execute a move successfully and voiced his dissatisfaction with the referee’s decision.
The Real Betis fans took this as an opportunity to provoke him, and the exchange quickly turned hostile.
True to his nature, Vinicius did not back down. He reacted by making hand gestures, first holding up a one and then a zero, indicating the score at the time when Real Madrid was in the lead.
This response further fuelled the tension, and although Madrid later failed to secure the victory, the altercation had already left its mark on the match.
As expected, Vinicius once again found himself in trouble with the referee. During the second half, he was booked for protesting against Hernandez Hernandez, adding yet another yellow card to his growing collection.
“It’s crazy. Crazy! Of course, of course, as always. For me. For Vini, always a card,” said the Real Madrid forward.
His frustration was evident as he walked away from the situation, while the Benito Villamarin crowd seized the moment to taunt him. “Stupid! Stupid,” sang the home crowd.
This cycle of confrontation has become a recurring theme in Vinicius’ career. Whether it is his passionate approach to the game or the way opposition fans target him, these incidents continue to follow him across stadiums.
Unfortunately for him, this match against Betis was just another chapter in that ongoing narrative.
