Erling Haaland has urged City to believe in each other and keep putting in the work on the training pitch after the 2-1 Premier League defeat against Aston Villa.
Goals from Jhon Duran and Morgan Rogers inflicted a sixth top-flight defeat in eight matches on Pep Guardiola's side.
Phil Foden pulled a goal back in stoppage time at Villa Park, claiming his first league goal of the season, but it proved to be too late as the hosts claimed the points.
Haaland, who showed plenty of endeavour but had limited chances in front of goal, has called for more hard work and belief from the squad after the setback.
"Of course we are disappointed, it's not good enough," said Haaland. It's not good enough from me.
"They're good players, it's difficult to come here but we're Man City we should be out there. We have to continue, we have to believe and we have to keep working hard.
"We have to continue. First I'm looking at myself, I haven't been doing things good enough, I haven't been scoring my chances. I have to do better, I haven't been good enough.
"Of course, our confidence is not the best. We know how important confidence is and you can see that it affects every human being. That is how it is, we have to continue and stay positive even though it is difficult."
Haaland was also quizzed about Guardiola and his efforts to turn the team's results around, after being pictured in discussions with the boss in the Villa Park tunnel after the game.
The Norwegian expressed his full belief in the manager's processes and tactics, and is confident that the Spaniard will guide the team back to positive results.
"It's the small details, I don't remember right now [what Pep said]. I'm thinking we just lost a game, another one. I don't remember but it was probably some small instructions to do things better.
"He won the Premier League six times in seven years, so we will never forget that.
"He will find the solutions. He has been doing that every single year. We still believe in him, we have to work harder than ever right now."
