Mauricio Pochettino is starting to settle in as United States boss, but a 2-0 loss to Mexico in a friendly last time out revealed the amount of work he has ahead of him.
The Argentine has been tasked with getting the Stars and Stripes ready for the 2026 World Cup on home soil, but much can change between now and then.
One potential task for Pochettino is dual-national recruitment — something the United States excelled at during the Gregg Berhalter era.
But speaking in a press conference Monday morning, Pochettino was quick to point out that it should not take much convincing for players to want to represent their home nation.
There have yet to be any major reports suggesting plans to bring in dual nationals, but with the United States and Mexico often tussling over rising stars, Pochettino's notoriety could play a role in swaying potential new recruits.
