PSG have qualified for the Champions League semi-finals despite losing 3-2 to Aston Villa at Villa Park in the quarter-finals second leg. Les Parisiens were leading 5-1 on aggregate but they conceded three goals from Youri Tielemans, John McGinn and Ezri Konsa to send Villa Park into rapture. Still, PSG eventually prevailed, with Gianluigi Donnarumma pulling off stunning saves to maintain PSG’s slender lead.

Speaking to Canal+, Ousmane Dembélé still sounded angry with the manner PSG nearly threw away a Champions League semi-final. “We thought we were too good. At 2-1, we thought we were already qualified and that it was over“, the winger, recipient of the Player of the Match award, said. “That’s how the Champions League goes. You face teams whose supporters are white-hot and they can turn the game on its head.” The Rennes Academy graduate has called on his PSG teammates to be more demanding for the semi-finals, where PSG will face either Arsenal or Real Madrid. The Gunners are 3-0 up before the second leg.
