For the final time in what has been a historic season for the club, Birmingham got to show their home supporters why they are now following one of the most exciting teams in the country.

They have won the league at a bit of a canter; they've broken the English third tier's all-time points record and are on track to become the highest-scoring team, in terms of points, in English footballing history.

It was all capped off with a thrashing of a 4-0 win at St Andrew's versus Mansfield Town on Sunday, when, after the game, Blues finally got their hands on the trophy that they'd been aiming for all season long.

Tom Wagner gives promising Birmingham City future prediction

Despite all of the celebrations that came pre, during and post Sunday's contest, the club's chairman believes that there is a hell of a lot more to come from this team.

Wagner took to the mic after the match to address the supporters and made this inspiring declaration, as per Birmingham Live.

"I just want to say a big thank you to all of the supporters. We don't forget that this is your club and it's an honour to be a Blue. I promise you that this is not the best day that we will enjoy together. It's not even f***ing close."

The American businessman has already aired his hopes for what the future holds. The club are already planning to build a new Sports Quarter in the east of the city, which will house a new 60,000-seater stadium, training centre and academy facility.

He has turned the club into a revenue-generating machine, a factor which he believes will give Blues as good a chance as any team in the Championship next season of being promoted.

It'll be a shock if Tom Wagner's strong statement doesn't come to be true

Wagner's natural competitiveness is going to drive him to make sure that his proclamation to the Birmingham faithful will not be just some words that he chucked out into the ether in the hope of a positive response from the supporters. He is going to do everything possible to make sure that he comes good on his promise.

And that's what should excite Birmingham fans most. Not only do they have a very strong squad and manager, they have an owner who has the drive to push the club in the right direction, plus the financial capital to rocket-propel them to where they want to get to even faster than they would have thought.
