The first presentation of the Rebaño Femenil in 2025 was more than positive, as with a good performance away from home against Necaxa, they earned their first three points of the Clausura. Now, once again away, they face the same challenge against a Santos team that has already won this semester, making this Friday's match at the TSM Stadium a very interesting duel.
With this in mind, there is a name in the Rojiblanco squad that gave an almost perfect performance in Aguascalientes, and who contributed not only offensively, but also in keeping a clean sheet for the first time this year. We are talking about Damaris Godínez, who gave a performance to remember at right back.
It is well known that 'Dama' can play in every zone of the Guadalajara backline, and she has done so with flying colors in every opportunity. On this occasion, as we have already mentioned, the Rebaño's number 3 occupied the right flank in a much more offensive role due to the conditions of the match.
During the 90', Godínez ran the flank with maximum effort, without ever losing his composure. Her incorporations in offense to support 'Gaby' Valenzuela's runs gave depth to Guadalajara's attack, always returning in time to close down the defense when necessary.
Damaris even came close to making it 2-0 for Chivas Femenil in the first half, in a laboratory play that left her alone outside the box on a corner kick, only for her to pull the trigger and rattle the crossbar with 29 minutes to play.
Undoubtedly, it was a more than applaudable performance that will surely be repeated this Friday on Lagunero soil. For this reason, Damaris Godínez is the player to watch against Santos.
