Why Chelsea need to stay clear of Serie A winger with incredible dribbling talent

The last 10 years have seen AC MIlan and Chelsea do a lot of business together.
That’s why the Italian club’s director of football referred to the “friendly relations” between the two sides recently. But by and large it’s been one way traffic – Chelsea selling off their unwanted players at a discount to Milan.
It seems that might soon be reversed, however. Now, there’s the chance that a Milan sell-off could benefit the Blues. CaughtOffside today report that a huge clear out of Rossoneri first team players is coming this summer, with former Blues Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek among those who could go.
But it’s another player Chelsea have their eye on – Rafael Leao, the winger they’ve been linked to for some years. The piece claims that if Milan fail to qualify for the Champions League (and on current form that looks likely), they will sell off some of their leading stars, including Leao.

Chelsea and Barcelona are the top teams mentioned as furthest forward in the Leao chase, and we’d have to think we are favourites to land him if we really want him. Barca already have solid options out wide and are still pretty hammed in financially.
There will certainly be doubts about signing Leao, despite his talent. His attitude has always been questioned, and in a team which is already lacking experience and leadership, adding a player not known for his work rate or professionalism is a huge question mark.
He’s the kind of maverick you want to add to a really strong dressing room which will shape him well, not someone you want to throw into the mess we have at the moment.
