Juventus left-back Juan Cabal is set to join centre-back Gleison Bremer on the treatment table with a suspected cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, but the Bianconeri are only looking to target one new defensive addition in January, according to Thursday’s reports.
Though Cabal is set to to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season according to recent reports, Juventus are still only looking at the potential signing of a new centre-back in the January transfer window.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, Juve will look to promote from within to provide another option at full-back.
Thiago Motta still has Andrea Cambiaso, Danilo and Nicolo Savona at his disposal, but according to Thursday’s report, he will also likely promote Next Gen regular Jonas Jakob Rouhi to the first-team set-up while Cabal is out nursing his knee injury.
Financial restrictions are part of the reason why Juventus will not look to sign a new full-back in January, as the club reportedly have around €65m tied up in future buy-options from their their summer signings, including the likes of Nico Gonzalez, Pierre Kalulu and Michele Di Gregorio.
