Wolverhampton Wanderers have submitted an offer for AS Monaco midfielder Soungoutou Magassa (21), according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Magassa has been used as a rotation option at Monaco over the course of the past season and a half. The France youth international featured as a centre-back in a back three at the start of last season, however, he returned to his more familiar position as a defensive midfielder as Monaco changed systems.
It is in this position that Magassa has featured once again this season. He has so far made 23 appearances in all competitions, including 13 starts. He has been used largely as a back-up to Lamine Camara and Denis Zakaria, the first-choice duo, however, the academy product has frequently had opportunities to showcase his talents.
However, he could yet leave before the closure of the transfer window with Foot Mercato reporting that Wolves have submitted an offer, the value of which has not yet been revealed. Magassa signed a contract extension that runs until 2029 as recently as December.
