Women’s Under-21s win at Millwall in Capital Cup | OneFootball

Our Women’s Under-21s booked their place in the second round of the Capital Cup with a 2-1 victory over Millwall Lionesses at The Den on Sunday afternoon.

Maia Lazaro capitalised on a strong start to put us ahead midway through the first half before Fran Hamer doubled our advantage with a lovely volley from inside the box but, despite a dominant opening 45 minutes, the hosts cut the deficit just before the break with a stunning strike into the top corner.

It was a highly contested second half against the senior opposition, who compete in tier five of the Women’s football pyramid, as both sides carved out opportunities, but our players managed to control the final stages of the game to see out the win and seal our spot in the next round of the competition.
