Chelsea look increasingly likely to be ready to invest in another winger this summer.

The additions of Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and Joao Felix last summer did not work out (or at least haven’t so far), Raheem Sterling is unwanted, and we’re even hearing rumours about Noni Madueke being for sale in the summer.

Estevao Willian will arrive, but we can’t expect too much from him right away. What is clear is that we are going to be looking for more wide attacking options, and there’s one very close to home in the Premier League.

Antoine Semenyo has been a key part of this amazing Bournemouth season, and there are increasing links with a move for the Ghana winger this summer. Chelsea and Arsenal are both linked by CaughtOffside this morning.

They say that the Cherries are going to hold a meeting this week where they discuss the future of Semenyo and left back Milos Kerkez, another player the Blues have been linked with before.

Semenyo has all the tools to shine at Chelsea

Semenyo has 9 goals and 4 assists this season. That’s a great return for someone playing for a a team that isn’t traditionally competing for European places.

He’s also a player who stands out for more than just his contributions in the box. He’s got superb work rate and physicality, and has been a key part of Bournemouth’s high pressing under Andoni Iraola.

We would love Chelsea to consider signing him – he could offer so much to this squad, at the right price. Now 25, he might be considered too old by our sporting directors, who like to stick pretty religiously to their model. We’ll tell you one thing – we’d rather have him on the wing to face Spurs next week than Sancho or Felix.
