Sadly for Leicester City and Fantasy Premier League managers who chose Jamie Vardy for their teams, we have a problem. Obviously the Foxes haven't played particularly well this season, in spite of not currently being placed in the relegation zone. The pain is, however, never-ending for LCFC supporters in 2024/25.
On every occasion where it felt as though progress may be made - another potentially serious problem arose. For example, losing at home to Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers was a bit of a surprise for some. It was a match you would expect a competent City side to win. Although, this Leicester team is fairly incompetent at this level, sadly.
Another instance to recall would obviously be losing top goalkeeper and LCFC No.1 Mads Hermansen. The man from Denmark has somewhat proven himself in the English top flight with a few fine performances in tough matches during the current campaign. While his issue is not considered serious, Hermansen's absence couldn't be timed worse in my opinion.
Now, of all stars of the King Power outfit, talisman Vardy has a problem which could rule him out of the Liverpool visit. Naturally, a chance exists that the ageing attacker might perhaps be sidelined for further matches following the Anfield clash. Nevertheless the ex-England goalscorer was, at the very least, labelled a doubt for the Reds fixture by City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy.
So how can Leicester cope? Which Fox could replace Vardy? Which FPL strikers can be targeted after 'knocks' set the No.9 back? Will the one centre forward system remain the same, or will already under pressure LCFC manager Ruud van Nistelrooy start two players up front? Here is your Leicester injury news and three potential replacement attackers to note. Along with some FPL information and tips.
I'm not going to sit here and suggest FPL managers sign other Foxes centre forwards if Vardy is out. Not Patson Daka, nor someone like Jordan Ayew. Odsonne Edouard isn't even involved at present. RvN is likely to play Ayew; Daka might be the main man.
Over in the wider EPL, similarly priced choices are available. 'Vards' is £5.6m; Wolves' Jørgen Strand Larsen is therefore an option. Raúl Jiménez of Fulham stands out as well.
If you have a further million, I'd go for Nottingham Forest's Chris Wood. Yoane Wissa at Brentford is a shout, but their fixtures aren't ideal.
