Former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner, who famously guided the Bundesliga side to a Europa League title in 2022, masterminded a victory over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City during Saturday’s clash at Wembley.
Eberechi Eze found the net in the 16th minute to give Palace the lead, while Dean Henderson preserved the advantage with a crucial penalty save to deny Omar Marmoush.
During the latter stages of the January transfer window, Schlupp reunited with Brendan Rodgers by moving to Celtic on loan from his South London side.
The ex-Premier League champion has featured in 15 matches during his time in Scotland, contributing one goal and providing one assist.
Prior to joining the Scottish champions, the 32-year-old had seen significantly less playing time at Selhurst Park. His participation in Palace’s FA Cup campaign this season was limited to just 13 minutes during a home fixture against League One opponents Stockport County.
Luckily for Schlupp, that brief appearance was sufficient to earn a medal. He posted a photo of the medal on his Instagram story, accompanied by blue and red heart emojis and a heart-eyed smiley face.
Schlupp will be aiming to expand his impressive medal haul this season, after already earning one for contributing to Celtic’s fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, as the Hoops prepare to face Aberdeen at the national stadium in this weekend’s showpiece Scottish Cup final.

Immediately after Saturday’s final, discussions will begin on whether Celtic will negotiate a permanent contract for Schlupp or not.
The Ghanaian international is out of contract at Palace and will become a free agent this summer. With Greg Taylor heading out the door, Celtic will need to sign another left-back in addition to Kieran Tierney returning to the club.
