AC Milan take on Bologna in the Coppa Italia final at the Stadio Olimpico this evening.
The Rossoneri are aiming to win the Italian Cup for the first time in 22 years, a staggering drought for a club of such stature. Amid a difficult Serie A season, cup success could see Sergio Conceicao’s side end the campaign on a high.
Milan beat Bologna 3-1 in the league last Friday night. In a dress rehearsal for tonight’s final, Santiago Gimenez struck twice as Milan came from behind to win at the San Siro.
Bologna are a place above Milan in the table but will be competing in their first Coppa Italia final since 1974.
Rafael Leao returns from suspension in a huge boost for Milan, who also welcome back Youssouf Fofana from injury. However, Riccardo Sottil and Warren Bondo are ruled out.
Sergio Conceicao faces a tough decision on who starts at centre-forward. Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic have both played important roles in the run to the final, though January recruit Gimenez will be hoping his brace last week can earn him the nod.
Fikayo Tomori is expected to shake off a knock to feature as part of Conceicao’s new-look back three.
AC Milan predicted XI: Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Jimenez, Fofana, Reijnders, Hernandez; Pulisic, Leao; Gimenez.
AC Milan face Bologna in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday 14th May 2025. Kick-off in Rome is 20:00 BST.
In the UK, the match will be broadcast live on Premier Sports 1.
