Eredivisie outfit Almere City have officially dismissed manager Hedwiges Maduro, with the club on a dreadful run of form. They currently sit rock bottom in the Eredivisie standings, having picked up just six points this season. They’re currently eight points adrift after winning one in 16 games so far this season.

Hedwiges Maduro took charge back in July, having previously worked at the club as a youth coach and assistant manager of the first team between 2020-2023. Before returning to Almere, the 39-year-old was an assistant at Ajax during arguably one of the worst periods the Dutch giants have ever experienced. Almere’s last match saw Maduro’s side lose 3-0 away to Ajax. They’re currently on a seven-game losing streak and take on Robin van Persie’s Heerenveen next.
